the 2 ya got in the group pic with the full guards..whats rough dimensions of it and what model is that....

wish we could see a rerun of that one...I like that full guard.

That, sir, is the second-generation Mini Tanto. The brass-guard version that Hombre just acquired was the first generation, and the model with the round tsuba was the second version.

It really is an excellent knife, and I don't know why it wasn't more successful. It basically was succeeded by the Kobun, which actually is a better knife with a better sheath. But I don't think the Mini Tanto was given enough of a chance. If it was re-released today, I think it would do very well.

Nice collection, Stephan! Those first Mini Tantos are hard to come by.

thank you Steve....great info I appreciate it.

I like this 2nd version mini tanto....im assuming about a 5.5 inch + or so blade......id love to see this come back with the leather sheath too.....
