Had a nice surprise today when we got back in town after a weekend visiting some family. A package from Tomar's was in my mailbox, containing the BK14 I ordered before we left (Tomar is quick).

All I've done is carry it today, and use it for some really like stuff. I did baton it into a gnarly bunch of celery, though. :D I knew I'd probably like the 14, since I have really liked my 16. I was a little concerned the handle would be too small for me. It is small, but it feels good in my hand. The balance on this little knife is perfect - its right on the finger choil. The shape of the handle works well for me, too.

With the TDI clip, I belt-carried it, and you'd hardly know it was there. A t-shirt covered it.

So, obviously I haven't really done much with it, but it makes a good first impression.

Yup....i love my 14... Carry it on my neck all the time, made scales that looked good but decided that it s an everyday worker so got rid of them, wrapped it with 550 and got to work with it...love that little blade...!

the zytel grips make the 14 feel very comfy in hand. mine is with me at all times!

Nice. The 14 is great, and the scales make it feel like a much bigger knife than it is.

A lot of people dig on the scales not being micarta, but I will say what needs to be said here. Ethan and KB did a fantastic job on those Zytel scales. Bar none the best small blade "production" handles out there. The 14 and 24 does not need micarta or g10 to be cool or functional.

Now if we could just get them in more colors, that would be a hit!!

Indeed. I'd like zytels for the 11 too, though I do like the micarta.

I don't disagree. I like the Zytel handles on both of my Beckers. I can see how some would not like it, or prefer something like G10, but personally I like the feel and ease of clean-up.

I just received the 14 last Friday and have been enjoying its company ever since. I started looking for another Becker when I was in search of a fixed blade for part of my EDC. Had trouble deciding between the 11 and 14 but ultimately bought the 14 (figured I couldn't go wrong either way). My BK2 was enough to make me a huge fan of the Becker name but the last few days with the 14 have made me an even bigger fan, if that is at all possible.

I also have to agree that the zitel scales are an absolutely perfect fit for this knife. The only reason I would have to get Micarta handles would be to match the 2 once I pickup a matching sheath from Skystorm for the 14.

And so it begin.........

Good choice! I like the 14 a lot. I agree that the zytel scales are really all you need. No need to put micarta on there.
