The steel is O1. Overall length is 6.5 inches and the blade length is 2.5. The handle is burl maple. This is my first file worked knife and its quite an addiction. I have been using scraps of thin wood to practice on. This is a variation of Bruce's vine file work tutorial. The edge on this gets scary sharp and hard. I carved a 6 inch piece of broom stick down to the knub and made about 50 cuts in a piece of cardboard and it still popped hairs off my arm. I bought a 8" arkansas hone stone off Ebay for 13.00 and it is so nice to sharpen with. The design is mine drawn with french curves but I'm sure somebody has made it before. What do you think?

That's a really nice looking little skinner. You have a lot of work in it. That maple sure is nice isn't it. The n/s liners is an extra classy touch and the file work keeps it from disappearing into the tang (I'll remember that).

I want to do some file work to. I was going to try it on the one I'm making now but ran too short on time. Maybe the next one; I'll try to learn that stuff.

Nice design. I like. I'll save that pic. if you don't mind.

That looks very handy, and the filework is just right. I'm partial to filework under the scales and you did a great job. Very nice knife!
