Although not specified in the RMK catalog, it is possible to specify "#14 Style" finger grips when specifying finger grips for Randalls without a full tang. While finger grips is a chargeable option, specifying #14 Style ones on top of that is not.

I just snagged a #19-4.5" with a stacked leather handle with this handle option. While finger grips for Randall without a full tang must be specified for right- or left-handed use, this is not the case with the #14 Style ones, which works for both.

I've actually seen knives with finger grips like this before, but I guess I never managed to put 2 and 2 together and get 4. Thanks for connecting the dots.

While I really love the regular finger grips, there may just have to be a knife or two down the road where I'll go with this option.

That's a really cool knife Ken, thanks for sharing the pics and info! IIRC, I only have one FG stacked leather RMK left - a very early Model #12-6 'Little Bear Bowie' with a nickel-silver hilt, and go figure, seven spacers...

Thats quite a classy knife. Thank you for the information.

As an update, I spoke w/Greg Gutcher a few days ago, hoping to have this fingergrip style put on an upcoming order - he had run the order past the Shop, and as it turns out, finger grooves are not (no longer?) available on RMK models made from 3/16" stock...

More information is always nice, and thank you too.

I am still happy in that this is just special enough for me to order another #1 :D
