I want a knife for light chopping and machete use. the spyderco forester looks good but I am hoping for something less than 100 that would work great also. I want something less than 1/4 inth thick. so far I am leaning on the condor jungle bowie. are there any other knives in this blade length and less than 100? thank you for any suggestions.

Just about any Cold Steel Matchete, they have plenty to choose from. :)

Lots of cheap machetes out their that would work.

Ontario, Condor and Cold Steel make them that size.

thanks
I looked at the machetes yesterday but the shortest I found were 17 to 18 inches. they are little longer than what I wanted but that might be my only option.

cold steel and the ontario are good picks, back to the spy forrester it is a hoss, they are around $100 plus a little in places, sharpest dam knife..........

Is 15-16 inches the overall length your looking for or blade length? Ontario make a "cutlass" machete that has a 12" blade and about 17" overall. Ka-Bar also has a cutlass machete thats a tad smaller.

condor golok, it will give you some more blade (thicker) than the typical machete, and it fits your size range.

If you want to run right up to your price, wait for the RAT junglas to be available, it is anticipated to be priced near where you are shopping.

Tramontina makes great machetes for the cheapest price. They make a 14" model, 20" overall.

Plus one to everything mentioned so far.

16 overall. I will take a look at the link. the junglas does sound nice.
thanks for the input guys
I may end up with the condor and a cold steel spear machete??
