Congrats! Thats Tirtha alright! May not even want to mess with the crack at all if its that small. I have a few like that myself I planned to repair but they are so unnoticeable i just hooflexed them and let them be. Enjoy!

In the past year or two there've been quite a few lighter weight Ang Kholas posted as DOTDs. Perhaps in response to comments by forumites. Of course "lighter weight" is a relative term, as an Ang Khola with a 3/8" spine is more massive than almost any knife of the same length that you'll see anywhere outside HI.

I use a postal scale myself, but it shouldn't be too hard to rig up a balance-type device to weigh a knife. Maybe a coat hanger dangling from a nail or string. Hang a bag of pennies (or any other standardized coin) on one side and your khukuri on the other side. Add or remove coins until they balance. Note: Pennies dated before 1982 weighed 3 grams each; after 1982 2.5 grams. Inflation! I'm not sure about pennies dated 1982. Allow for the weight of the bag; easiest way is to put a similar bag on the side with the khukuri.

The beauty of this method is that, unlike a regular scale, it will work on other planets with different gravitational strengths, and astronomers are discovering more of those all the time. :)

yeah I just measured starting at handle it is 3/8th on back but it tapers down to 1/4 where the blade starts to curve, beautiful fullers, but this one is lighter and more fighter like then my bruiser anghola from 2 years ago, im not gripeing,i like em both, sold the heavier one,i bet this one will take whatever we can dish out. we just trim trees and bushes, yardwork,my wife alwy"s asked wheres your crooked big knife,i don't like this parang anymore, bear grills, lol.also bought a condor warlock, its large,it is a pretty good blade.prefer my kukris. ill try to weigh it. its light. not gonna be no fatigue choppin.
