15 sheath question

I have a 15 and I find it to be essentially wonderful. I wanted a spyderco south fork, then decided the 15 was similar enough and so much more affordable.......I am beyond pleased, and it meets my drip coffee, calloused hands budget a bit better.....anyhow...............
Does anyone know if the Kabar kydex sheath made for the short kabar said fits the 15 ??
I searched as well as I could and see that the leather short sheath fits the 15, and I want to assume the the kabar kydex one would also.......anyone know the answer to this?

I have the short leather. It works well. Can't speak to the kydex but i don't think it's actually kydex. I think it's FRN.
 
How are you looking to carry? I'd love to make something for a 15.

Yeah, the sheath is made to fit a KA-BAR F/U knife, and it snaps in with the guard. The 15 won't snap in because it's not even close to the shape of a F/U in the "guard area". The reason it fits into the short leather is because all that needs to fit is the blade.

I checked out you work and I really like the leather with kydex retention idea. I am expecting to mod the handle a bit on my 15 in the next few months. Once I am settled on handle mods, I will have more decisions to make on the sheath.
I will keep you in mind if I go the custom route.

Just make sure you mod your handle before you get a kydex made for it

Depending on what you do you could change the retention on kydex

Yep, that is the only thing I am looking at.....just some liners to make the handle a bit more full. I have some very nice South African ironwood, but the stuff ends up so pretty when polished up, that IMO, I would probably end up not using the knife any longer. I want the 15 to still be a user.
