Here is my second attempt at a japanese style blade.
This one is quite a bit bigger at 15.25", it is shaped like a large kwaiken I suppose, but I am going with tanto based on its size.
It was polished to 2500 grit, and etched.
The blade has a very nice whispy hamon, that I stink at capturing in a photo.
The handle is black sting ray, with a reverse tsuka ito and a copper menuki that carries my makers mark.
The blade is 10", with a 5.25" handle.

The copper menuki with your maker's mark is very cool. I really like it, as with all your stuff!

great looking knife. the hamon looks great and I agree it is very hard to capture it in a photo. I like it a lot.

Fine looking work and a nice size for such a blade.....neat menuki!

Thanks guys, I am having fun doing these. It is a nice break from the norm.

Look great, there is something alluring in that style of blade.

Way to mix it up Ben:thumbup: The BRT menuki is really cool, don't think I've seen anything like that before.

Good stuff!

Thanks for the kind words guys!
Although a ton of work to polish, I am having a blast doing this style of knife.

Thanks Lycosa, maybe a short handle on the next one.
