I see a lot of posts asking to recommend knives in the 100 dollar range but not many when you start getting to 150-200. I am looking for a nice folder that opens fast or an assisted opener in this price range and would greatly appreciate recommendations either from personal experience or knives that you yourself want.

I want a benchmade rukus 610 but those are a little bit steep these days.

Get an Emerson. Use the leftover money and get a Case small toothpick.

You live in FL... (lucky bastid) ...

Ever consider a switchblade? ProTech has many models in your price range. I'd suggest checking the exchange forums here before you start searching for a dealer.

Would Recommend getting the Rukas. Its a great knife and you will have it forever. Check out YouTube. Knivestown does a nice review on it and also on his top 10 knives. Many of which have been discontinued.

benchmade 940 and kershaw ram. both open as fast as any auto. check out the spyderco PPT. protech TR3 is a fantastic little auto. skip the AOs.

I like the benchmade HK 14205 or 950 Rift. But the good old 710 is a great knife as well. Look at ZT knives as well.

I really like my ZT0301, great knife opens smartly. One of my best buys, especially if you buy a second from the exchange.:D

That's what I was going to suggest...Or for something alittle smaller & lighter, the ZT 0350 is a good choice...I have both and love 'em both.

i was able to find a benchmade subrosa for 150 or so online. its an awesome knife. framelock assisted opener, its pretty large. its almost like a framelock, assisted benchmade 710.

Hello,

I admit my 15 year old son and I are dyed in the wool traditional slipjoint and sheath knife types but he and I have been beating the crap outa this 'My Tighe' produced by 'CRKT' and honestly she has stood up to all of it. I received her in used condition in a contest by a very grand fellow here at BF.com and she has really made me a believer regarding hard use / heavy duty fast assisted openers!.
