What type of knives do you want to collect?
What is your usage?
Why are you starting your collection with such expensive knives?

There are a lot of knives that cost much less than $150 that are worth trying out just to see what kinds of knives fit into your usage.

Spyderco Delica
Benchmade Griptilian
Benchmade Monochrome
Spyderco Byrds - any and all of them.
Ka-Bar Doziers
and you should try some traditional knives if you never have:
Queen Stockman
Case Trapper in CV steel (non-stainless alloy steel)

Find out what types of knives you like, then see if you want to spend the bucks to get fancies.
