I recently purchased a 15 OT as a present for my father. The blade is supposed to be 1095. Now the blade is not marked as stainless, but it looks stainless to me. I guess I am just looking for some clarification from someone that knows the difference between the 2 better than I.

It is hard to tell Schrade+ stainless and Schrade carbon apart even side by side when they are new. IF it is going to be used as a user, cut some apples with it. If it patinas it is carbon.
