I could buy a lot with this money. I saved up and I'm ready for a new knife. No 'save your money' bs. I'm looking for preferably a benchmade, but I'm open to ideas. I can't find a PM2 in stock anywhere. I dont want a thin flimsy knife either and I would like G-10. Thanks guys

Tell us how you plan to use it and what you'd like it to be able to do, and I'm sure you'll get tons of good suggestions.

For instance, a PM2 is an awesome slicer but too thin to pry with in an emergency. A similarly priced Griptilian or ZT 0200 for instance has much thicker blade stock.

So what's your intended use?

I started a thread with almost this exact title not too long ago. Ended up with a Hogue EX-01 and ZT 0566. Couldn't be happier, I think the ZT is worth a look. Got mine for $125 shipped. G-10, elmax steel, absolutely solid lock up, frame lock, awesome blade shape, solidly built.. the list goes on.

I intend to use it. I bought a buck/strider thinking I could do anything to it, but the liner failed...anyways, I would like to EDC this, but use it as 'hard use' / 'tactical'

It's sweet, dude. My second one arrived today; went with coated + serrations. Super happy with this release

Have a very close look at the ZT's also- 0200 and 0566. You will be amazed at how solid they are for hard use. Kershawguy has the 0200 cheap and I LOVE mine.

I was reading reviews on the 0566... some people complained about the difficulty opening it with thumb studs and even the flipper? Do you have to break it in?

Not sure about the 0566 I haven't owned one.

The one pictured is the 0200. Flips like its on bearings, huge guard, organic ergonomics, Ken Onion design.

I read that too, but mine flips out perfectly. The blade stops are a bit harder for deployment but I actually use that method more than the flipper.

I can vouch for the ZT 0566. Got one about 4 days ago and I loooooove it, solid knife. Have to say tho that for somebody who usually carries a 2-3 ounce knife, it will take a little getting used to. Personnally, a 5 ounce blade is what I usually carry so no problem there and cant even feel it. I've used it quite a bit since I got it, it's my new favorite knife. I took the torsion bar out, not because I didn't like it but just because I wanted it manual, so opened the knife, cleaned it, took the torsion bar out, put a bit of nano oil and put it all together. It flips like a pro!

One last question: if I were to get a 0350, would the liner lock be good? Just as good as a framelock? Becaue my buck/strider was not pretty.

My brother in law has a 350, he loves it and carries it everyday as an edc blade. He's never had any problem with the liner, the liner is pretty darn thick,. Tho I have to mention that when he tried my 0566, he wanted it real bad. He told me a couple of hours later that he ordered one.
