Rounding out my petty kitchen series with this 150mm kiritsuke in 2.6mm-thick mill-finish 154CM, with G10 bolster and katalox handle. This version of my maker's mark may be a little large for this piece... I just ordered smaller ones in a fresh stencil. Hardness targeted at ~61.5Rc in keeping with the style. Sharpening it was fun! Edge is ~20d on the ground face with a ~10d microbevel on the back.

Thanks for looking.

Ok. I should try that some time with my disc grinder.

Oh yes, I shape these wa-shaped handles 100% on the disc, and then hand-finish with the blade chucked into the vise.
It's easier to tune everything as square to the blade as possible with it assembled for reference and all the glue fully set.

I really liked this knife, but it's on its way to Canada this morning...

the longer I look at it the more the orange grows on me.
Nice one

Thanks. :)
I know, it's weird at first. But the first one with this treatment was so compelling that it had to happen again. Though that was 1084 with the oil-quench finish, which was even more dramatic.
