First of all I would like to say how happy I am to be on the forum as I am brand new to it. I have just bought what I think is a vintage Uncle Henry 153UH Golden Spike knife. I would like to get some opinions on it from people on here but can't figure out how to post pics using a URL. Can anybody help me out ? Is there a way to post them straight from my files? Would sure like to show you all this one... Mike

Welcome Mike. Lots of info here on the "Golden Spike". You need to upload your image to a hosting site then use that site's URL of your image to post it here.

What hosting site do you recommend ?? I'm afraid I'm not very computer savvy and hope I can figure out how to do it.

I use photobucket but many others use tinypic.

Tinypic will most likely be easier for you. Follow directions then a page will come up giving you the codes to use posting. Select and copy the IMG code for forums & message boards. Then paste it here in a post. Make sure to copy "" at each end of that code as well or it won't post correctly.

Ok OFF the flea market to see what knives I can find today.

Goodluck.

Hi Mick from Australia, always good to have a new Schrade collector on this forum.
There is mainly two common 153UH knives around, the carbon blade or stainless blade 153UHs.
The early "Walden stamped knives", are very hard to find.
This is a 153UH with the carbon blade. The Stainless blade is stamped "Schrade+".

Mine is exactly like that one !!! Same box , same blade etch, same paperwork!!! Has the number 232913 on the guard. The sheath and the blade are still in the plastic and in new condition..... bought for $90 hope that was a fair price, I thought it was and I love these knives but wanted an older one . Can anybody tell me approximately what year it was made?? Thanks Guys and I will try to post pics soon....Mike

Tried to use TinyPic but can't seem to figure it out so I guess that's that... thanks guys

I'm guessing 1982-83 based on production numbers posted previously.

Toobad Mike. Find someone under 40 to help you out. LOL:D:D

You can get that info by checking out all the previous 153uh sales from the last 90days. If you really want a long term perspective you'd have to buy a subscription to worthpoint. Also read the sticky thread "what's my knife worth" top of this forum.
