Hello,
A while back there was a thread asking why manufacturers were swithcing back from ATS-34 to 154CM. It was stated that one of the reasons the industry went away from 154CM to begin with was that its production quality had diminished.
In either the latest TK or Blade in an article about something else they touched on the ATS-34 / 154CM thing. They were told by one manufacturer that the reason for the initial exodus from 154CM was because it was not available in sheets, making it prohibitively expensive to use for mass produced knives. Recently Crucible Steel started making 154CM in sheets so manufacturers started swithcing back.
Is tis the whole story? Does anyone know the whole story?
Later,
MBS
