154CM vs ATS34

Emerson uses 154CM on all production Emersons now...but he used to use ATS34 didn't he? What is the benefit(s) of using 154CM steel over ATS34? I'm just curious...

If I am not mistaken, 154CM is essentially the American version of ATS-34. I would imagine the big advantage is lower cost. No import expense or shipping expense. Even if he buys ATS-34 locally, the cost will still reflect the expense of import and shipping.

Dirk,you are correct.CM-154 is the american equivilant to the japanese ats-34.
