Does anyone know how much this knife used to cost retail. I am in the process of trying to purchase one on ebay and I keep getting outbid and I am not sure how much to spend. I am in a very fixed mood this week. Any help would be appreciated. Jamie

If you don't have good luck with these on ebay, shoot me a email. I still have a guy that has 158OT's in stock. He charges MSRP, but for old stock USA made Schade's, its still a good deal. Let me know and we'll work out the details.

Thanks for all the info. I stopped by an ACE Hardware store last night and can you believe they had two 158OT's. Both priced at $30 so I picked one up. They also have several other knifes but I need to slow down some if that is possible. I have checked around and several of the ACE stores here in my area still cary Schrades so I can do some shopping in the future. I also picked up a Schrade WR1 for 20 bucks. Don't know much about this knife. Thanks.

WR1 is one of those numbers Schrade used twice. The first time was for a Will Rogers limited edition with dual shields and a blade etch of his famous quote about never having met a politician, the last was for the Water Rat dive knife. If you have the latter, they also came in orange, maybe blue too.

I have the latter, black handle, sheath, box and papers. Very weird type of knife but a Schrade none the less. Something I will never use but cool to hold and look at. Thanks.

A friend here on the forum sent me a great WR1 boxed set, with a waterproof flashlite... And get this, it was a Rocky Mt. Elk Foundation set! Strange, huh? Mike Nelson shoulda had one of those WR1s.

Cool, I have a good friend at work who scuba dives and just went crazy when he saw the knife. It won't be long until he hits me up for it. I may trade it for all the Frost Cutlery knives he has and then use them for target practice. Seriously, it is a real cool knife to have in a collection. It makes you ask questions about what it can and is used for. I have also learned when looking for Schrade knives at a hardware store to have them always check in the storage bin area behind the display for knives even though the display is empty. That is how I found this one.
