The shield on this knife is says "15th Anniversary". I'm wondering 15th anniversary of what? Looks like a bird on there, is it related to Ducks Unlimited? The tang stamp says 885UH. It's probably on Larry's site, but being a terrible navigator, I couldn't find it.

Thanks,
Dave

Only a guess, could it be for Quail Unilimted, their 15th Anniversary would of been in 1996.

It is an FDS shield. No, no no not "feminine deoderant spray", Federal Duck Stamp (Annual Migratory Bird Hunting And Conservation Stamp). IIRC, the DS15 as produced in 2002 was a stagged bone handled Sharpfinger pattern with laser pierced blade and came in a laser engraved walnut box with a money clip replica of the stamp. This knife could possibly be an unfinished (non-etched) sample shown to show the U.S. Department of Interior for selection. Or an unfinished knife someone glued that emblem into.

Interesting. The shields were minuscule on the flyers I saw, but it does look the same. It's not one-of-a-kind though - there is another one on ebay right now from seller thingsforesell. I just asked that seller for more info; waiting to hear back.

Thanks,
Dave
