Wonder if the non habaki bolster is original or if Dan ground it off?
Tsimi I don't know the answer but I just flipped an email off to Dan to see if he has time to check out the thread and answer your questions. I'm not interested in the khuk per se, but I'm curious as to what you've brought up as well, interesting points.:)

I do admire That Scabbard a Great Deal though!!!! :D
As well as the habaki, free bolster and reduced cho creep.
IMO the cho should be within a 1/4" to 1/2" from the end of the bolster to not have any cho creep. :p
Maybe the old timers liked to, "Give it to 'em to the hilt" in the old days!!!! :p :D ;)
And maybe the old timers didn't mind getting a little blood on their hands, methinks we're much too fastidious in this day and age and perhaps that's why the cho is now an inch or 1 3/4" from the bolster?:grumpy:

I liked all the things about it you mentioned. Also the handle appears to be somewhat slimmer than some of the khuks I have. I like the slimmer more "hourglass" shape to the handle that one has also. And of course the sheath.

The bolster is the original non-habaki. Eric (hoghead) had this one before Shane. The sheath was a lot of fun (of course...:D). The khukuri is quite robust - you don't know it until you have it in your hand.

Seems like a while back, someone was asking me if I had any thick 16.5" khukuris....wish my memory was better...maybe they'll see it and it'll get a new home.

i asked if you had a 5/8" thick 18 or 20" ang a while ago... still kind of looking (only kind of becaus im paying of other plades as i get the money :( )
