Hi Everyone,
I've got a question. Since I received my 12" Villager I've been thinking about a 16.5" WWII Villager (I've had a 15" Villager for sometime now). Does anyone else think they'd be interested in something like that? Maybe if we got the same type of response that we got for the 12" Villagers it could become a possiblity?

I personally think that the Villager khukuris as the best "user" khukuris. Most of my H. I. Khukuris get handled a lot but not used (I want to keep them looking good for display). One of my M43's is beside the bed's headboard and when I'm out in the mountains or in the desert I take my Villager 15".

I might be persuaded to get one. However, the only feature of the WW2s that I don't like is the point. I'd like it a little pointier.

I did get a WW2 (16.5) blem awhile ago and the size is excellent. Maybe I should have listened to Rusty earlier. :)

I got an 18" WW2 with wood handle, thinking it might replace the 16.5", but good as it is,it's just not quite the right feel.

Then I ordered a 16.5" horn and Bill sent an 18". It took me about ten days to make up my mind whether to send the money or send it back. I sent the money.

Now it's the 18" Sirupati by Bura I'm trying to adjust to. It too is almost the perfect feel, but the magic is just not there.

Three almost magic khuks, but not one just right. It can drive you to the edge of insanity. Wait a minute: that's why I take medication. Um, excuse me a minute here...

But, you aren't going to drive the blades to the point of insanity are you?

I'm still having a hard time finding the one favoreite too. You are awful close with the 16.5" WWII.:) :)

The 16.5" WWII is the khuk I am most carefully considering right now and the "Villager" type is what I would opt for if available. The Villager AK I got recently seemed like just a regular khuk (brass bolster, riveted keeper on end cap) without the magic stone finish and rouged handle.

Since I was going to re-grind it and put on mustard anyway, the blade was no problem. It is a little painful to scratch up that magic stone, even if that is not the desired end result.

Also, the handle sanded down and soaked up tru-oil with alot less trouble. Since leaving the handles rough ultimately results in alot less work when putting on oil, I think it would be great if the Kamis could be persuaded to "hold" the finishing touches on a few 16.5" WWII's.

I think my favorite is the 15" Villager. I use it more than any of the others that I own. The rough finish of the blade and handle is why I like the Villagers so much. They scream "Use me!" The handle on my 15" Villager seems to be a little smaller around and fits my hands better. The rougher finish of the handle seem to make it easier to keep a more solid grip also. And I like that the lettering is in Nepalese.

As a general rule I buy two of the khukuris I really like. And use the dupliates. That way I have one to display in my collection and one to use. Any that are rare, old, unusual or "special" orders don't get used.
