First of all I am new to the forum and this is my first post and want to know other peoples opinion on kniVes. I have looked this up before and Kentucky Law says that it is legal to carry a pocket knife or a hunting knife but it says nothing about the age. Am I legal or not? Thanks ahead of time.

You should ask your parents or guardian.

I have and they do not mind me having any pocket knife. I'm an outdoors person so most of the time i'm in need of a knife as a tool. My parents understand that. 90% of the weekends out of the year im hunting, fishing, or preparing to do one of them.

You asked them. That is good. What have they said about this question? Have they looked at the law?

That and in some states there is a blade length limit and couldn't find anything about Kentucky having one so I was checking to see if you guys caught anything that I didn't.

They have looked at it but I am just confirming what we thought before.

Random legal advice on the internet is just that. Talk to your parents. Read the laws. If you have more question, consult actual legal advice...

I agree with your statement about random legal advice via the internet, however in all fairness to That_Knife_Guy and others who post here this forum is entitled "knife laws" which in all fairness leads most posters to believe it is a place to ask legal questions and receive (free) legal advice in response thereto or at least it appears to be so interpreted by most who start a thread here. There are no parameters or explanations as to what the purpose of this subforum is other than knife laws. I have said this before but if you ask for medical, dental, legal or other similar professional advice on the internet you get what you pay for, however there is no such caveat on this forum. As a practical matter these types of questions will persist whether from minors or adults as long as there is a Knife Law subforum.

"Free legal advice" from an anonymous source? Please.

At some point common sense kicks in. If not? Welcome to jail. Enjoy your fellow devoid of common sense roomates.

I was not asking for "legal advice" per say. More so to see if you guys caught anything that I didn't...yes common sense does kick in. I have looked up the actual knife law code for Kentucky.

I agree. I assume your post was not directed at my response.

No offense my friend but that is the problem. You may not have been asking for legal advice per se, however most posters in this subforum are seeking legal advice which is why this is an issue. There is no shortage of forum "lawyers". Caveat emptor, especially when you are not paying for the advice and have no attorney-client relationship with the poster responding to your question(s).
