How has everyone done with the 16 when processing game? Bird? Deer? Anything else? Opinions please!

ive done deer, squirrel, and racoon with a 16. the 16 was a little big for my comfort doing the squirrel but it still did the job.

I guess you can see from the thread link Guyon posted that I like the 16 quite a bit in the hunting woods. I've used it now for deer, turkey, and small game, and it does a great job. I originally wondered if the blade would be a little long for my preferences, but the blade shape and great ergos have made that a non-issue for me. I really don't think a hunter can go wrong with a 16.

MOCraig likes to post pictures that make me feel bad about myself as a hunter hahaha! DAMN YOU CRAIG! I swear this season I'm going to kill a turkey.....I feel it.

That being said, I've used my 16 on a couple of doe this season (1-mine, 1-buddy's). Does a darn fine job.

Ha! Not my intent, man, I swear.

I believe you'll get a bird this year, too. Secret is, you have to pat your BK16 gently and speak to it in a soft voice..........:p

Awesome. Thank you. I have a knife specific to upland birds and was wondering how the 16 would do with larger game. I appreciate the pics!

I'll try anything at this point. I've had so many hung up birds that it makes me nuts. I don't know how they sense me but they are like, screw you mine. I'm staying outside of your range.

I prefer a smaller blade - BK11 - but the 16 works just fine. Makes quick work of squirrel, anyway...

I used my 15 to gut my deer in November '14. Those tweeners are nicer "all rounders" than I thought at first.

The 16 is a great skinner. I have used it on a few deer and it worked great!
I also have used the 11 to do deer and and squirrel as well.

I think the 16 paired with the 5 or 15 is a great combo for hunting. Add the 11 or 14/24 to cover the small stuff.

I would never skin with the 5 or 15, but they make great knives for processing the meat to cut up to freeze and make steaks and stuff.
