Hey guys!
Here is the second blade in the Kissaki-Moroha-Zukuri style.
This one being a wakizashi with a 16" CPM 3V blade with an overall length of 22 1/4".
It features two textured black Timascus menuki and a leather embossed kydex scabbard.
The wasp waist handle really locks into your hand, making this lively blade quite controllable.
I had a lot of fun exploring this uncommon yet traditional style of blade. I can see how it would make for a fierce fighting blade.

I hope you guys like it.

Yes man! I have never seen a traditional wakizashi with this blade type. I was excited to see how it would look when you announced it on your related tanto thread.

Are there historical examples of this shape being used in wakizashi? It looks different than I imagined it would.

Here is probably the most famous one. "Kogarasu Maru". This one is a Katana.
I have not seen an old wakizashi size one, but I am sure there are examples around.

Yes I have seen this as a Katana before. I believe it is this very example. I always wonder about the history and story behind these blades. The way it was forged makes it obvious that the tip wasn't a simple repair choice. Did the smith see this style in tantos and want to stretch it out? Was this some experiment by an adventurous and open minded smith? Was it requested this way by an end user who utilized a stabbing technique with his sword. Or just a fashion statement for samurai court.

The world may never know....

Super clean

On this style blade I would love to see a real guard and a hard Saya

For me Kydex is utterly useless for this style blade

This is my most recent go with fast drawing a small knife from Kydex

For me Kydex is a no go

But I love the style and sori of your piece
