Got it last night when I arrived home from my cousin's house. A very nice 11:00PM surprise, that kept me up a couple of more hours playing with it...........and I played with the knife ALSO!
Anyway, the damascus is marked on the box as ladder damascus. I have never been a real fan of damascus an as a result I have not been exposed to many pieces firsthand. But I can tell you this, the damascus on this scallion is absolutely beautiful. The contrast o the damascus is excellent and the edge is as sharp as any Kershaw I've recieved. I'm talking hair popping sharp here. Grinds are nice and even with a needle for a point. Lockup, action. fit & finish are all first class. I am one lucky boy to have received this knife and my thanks go out to Thomas W. and all you guys who picked the wrong number
