1620ST SpeedSafe failure

The speedsafe isn't working via the thumbstud or the index flipper. I'm assuming the torsion bar just needs adjustment. Is it easier for me to try to fix this myself (I think that voids the warranty, no?) or to send it in with a note and warranty information and have Kershaw fix it for me? I really like this little knife, hopefully it can be fixed...

Contact Kershaw's Customer Service dept., they will take care of you by either sending you a new Torsion Bar, or having you send it in for repairs.

I think you okay with the warranty. Kershaw routinely sends out repair parts.

Get a few new torsion bars from Kershaw. Then read this link and the links in that thread to see what one looks like opened up. I know that's a Leek shown, but the innards are almost identical.

It's easy...you can do it in 15 minutes, and it doesn't void the warranty!
