The accompanying sheath is black. This is (I believe) the second edition 165 COPE (please correct me if I'm wrong). I have the identical blade with box, papers, and BROWN sheath. Does anyone here know if either/or is correct? I know the 165 COPE with the "Copenhagen" etch on the blade did come with the black sheath, but I'm not sure about this one. Of course it is possible/likely with Schrade that it was whatever was handy.

I recently saw a 165 DU with Deer Hunter scales so I would believe about anything!

Thanks,
Greg

I think that examples of the knife you show, and also the orange DU knives, were never regular SFO production, but put together in the last days, or after the last days, to get money flowing wherever possible. I have one of these, but I passed on the orange DEERHUNTER/DU. I see a steady decline in perceived quality from the early days to the last years of these 165's. The sheaths get cheaper also.

tongueriver;
It wasn't so direct, but I believe there may be an answer to my question somewhere in your statement. The correct sheath is whatever it came with. ???

I don't know the answer about the sheath. I got the impression that my black sheath was PROBABLY originally sold with the knife, but mixing and matching and variations are common with Schrade. I sure would like to see a picture of your box?!
