This is my 165OT. I can't remember when I bought it but I've had it for a while. It has seen some light use before I decided to put it away.

Those are great knives, a real handful.

Glad you put it away; "they don't make 'em like that any more."

jpet,

Nice 165OT. I really like them, too. Here's the two I have plus the one Uncle Henry version.

I have a beater in my collection, I'll have to pursue lloking for a better example, one of the best hunters Schrade made IMHO.

I know of at least 13 variations of this knife. I am crazy about them. I have 8 variations, and can't rest until I have them all, so don't be biddin' on the unusual ones, kay?:D

Here's my recent purchase alongside a Grohmann #1 in carbon - both excellent field knives:

I found a 165OTO in an Ebay store. Price is steep but I may have to jump.

Hi guys. Splitting the sheets is never an easy task. But eventually I'll be back to bug you all and compete for the one or two 165's I still want. Take care and keep up the posting and sharing. I am not online yet, just dropping into the public library as I can. Cybernanny doesn't like me coming to the nife place, but I sneak occasionally. I'm still writing as I regain access to my archive. At least I got my computer complete with backup, and all my files, most of my knives. And clothes.

Stay sharp!

Michael

Hey Michael! I was wondering where you've been, I hope everything is OK. Splitting the sheets is not fun (well, I can think of a few times it is:D).

:eek::eek:

dang michael i hope you got to pick out your leavers ---good luck to you:thumbup:

My 'leavers' were mostly the ones I had already donated to kitchen use, repaired and duplicate Safe-T-Grip knives and my carbon steel Old Hickorys. I haven't pulled my collection cabinets out of storage yet, so I really don't know if my collections had been 'shopped' during the week they were there and I was not. I am likely to have to sell many of them to make the transition anyway. Most importantly, the Schrade archives are intact and in my posession.

And the beat goes on. Oh yeah, I am staying with my daughter and her fiance'. We expect a new grandchild between now and new year's eve. Remember Uncle Henry's birthday on Christmas eve, wont you?

Michael

Tongueriver,

13 variations? Does that include all Old Timers and Uncle Henrys?

yes your right micheal, the schrade archives are a valuable possession. thank you for compiling what you have and sharing with everyone here who cares so much about the old company. its easy to imagine what a void place this would be without the dedication you and a few others have to the research side of schrade. me and many others rely on this site for info and data. you are a irreplaceable member. enjoy the holidays, and thanks from all of us.
