Only another Schrade collector will understand this logic. I had been collecting fixed blade Uncle Henrys and Old Timers on a cassual basis for years. I was not even aware that they had gone out of business until I joined this forum. I realized that I did not have a 165UH. A few came up on Ebay but I didn't get them. The the one on top came available and it was NIB. I had to have it so I went crazy and bid way too much. I got it for (gulp) $200.00. Then feeling bad that I paid so much, another came available on ebay. In my warped mind I purchased it for $100.00 and my logic was that now I amortized the cost over two knives so it was like I didn't pay $200.00 for the first one. Does this make sense to anyone but me? Well the end result is that at least I have a 165UH in my collection and I try not to think about the cost an try not to let my wife find out. If she does I'm pleading temporary Schrade insanity ar syndrome or Uncle Henry addiction.

Nice knives! And I can definitely understand your logic, or at least sympathize with it! If you need someplace to hide one of those....:D

Great knives! Merry Christmas. (and excellent logic, I might add). Unfortunately, I must inform you that I know of at least 5 different variations of the 165 UH, so you are not done yet!;)

tang stamped on blade left (mark side): SCHRADE over WALDEN over 165 UH. Serial number on same side of blade, read with the blade sticking up in the air (parallel with the guard and perpendicular with the other stamping). Thumb notches in top (spine) of blade. Saber ground. Brass colored guard, rivets and shield. Shield stamped Uncle Henry in script. My example is serialized under 3000.

an odd-ball example: mostly the same as above, but serial number moved to blade right, 14608. The rivets and shield are more silver-colored, and the shield is blank, possibly waiting for an SFO stamping.

1994-1997 regular production, saber ground (not hollow ground). Presumably stamped SCHRADE+. I don’t have one and can’t give further information.

late manufacture, stamped blade right SCHRADE+ over U.S.A. 165UH, horizontal orientation. Hollow ground. Rivets are more silver colored than gold colored. NO shield.

I am assuming there is another version exactly like the above, but with a shield, and probably the rivets are colored gold like the shield.

There must be more yet, unknown. All of the above have the typical staglon scales.

Great knives, kinda new here or should I say haven't been here to often (I'm trying to cure my self from this addiction). its not working!! Well anyway passing through and seen 165uh, one of my favorites. I sold one on ebay today for 100$ (not mint no box) WOW. Whats even better an hour later I bought another DU 165UH With staglon handle mint. The one I sold covered cost - the shipping cost. It was a good day!!

Brother I feel your pain, but yes that is how work it out too! I have done the same..glad to see I am not alone. Thanks and Merry Christmas
