how many of these were made?

for the most part i think this could be a good trend, i love the polished g10 on just about any knife- i am even thinking about doing a custom chive woth some orange g10 just to see what it would look like, and i would like to know what my ability to do custom work is.

Here is a photo of the 1660PGT.

i just ordered off the bay! for only $75 should be on mon or tues. then i will take pics...have alot to take pics of just awaiting arrival of most. been spending too much on the bay lately... but got 3 knives under $10 so far??love the partner series!!! thats what im trying to complete now!!! just got back from bikes, blues & bbq! big biker ralley in my area...damn that southern bbq could have bought another kershaw for that price

I really like the polished G-10 handles as well.
If you haven't seen it, you should check out the 1660T1G10. It has polished 3-D machined G-10 scales. The only real drawback is the 440A blade (the finish on the blade is really nice though). I liked the handle so much I moved my Random Leek blade to it.

The Damascus Leeks are very nice. Kershaw did an amazing job with them.
Apparently they are popular enough Kershaw got a request for another run.

Here are a few of the threads.

Damascus Leek?

Yet another Damascus Leek thread, more pics.

FUN with LEEK HANDLES / Blades Damascus-S30V

I have a 1660PGT that I bought off the bay. I think a thousand were made. The polished G10 scales are surprisingly pretty. The blade finish is satin.

very nice. i just won a leek, so im happy! ive always liked them (not like Jeremy thank goodness), but have never gotten one. should be fun.

i think im going to order a random leek and switch the r.l. blade & the s30v blade

can you purchase blades from kershaw? i noticed one knife blade i have had been replaced with a non-marked blade(from kershaw) then the model number wouldnt be wrong

or maybe they could add a custom shop @ kershaw and let customers design their own knives out of regular production materials like handles & blades....cough...thomasw.....cough!

Kershaw doesn't sell just blades and Thomas has been pretty persisitant on the custom Leek shop as in.....it ain't gonna happen.

I think you'll like the polished G-10. It's as easy on the pockets as any other smooth material, and it has a subtle carbon fiber-like effect. The PGT is one of my very favorite knives.

i have the random task & 2 mini tasks, i really like the g10..i just wish kershaw would offer more in the polished g10

We just wish it wasn't so hazardous and time consuming to do. I don't see any polished G-10 in the near future.

I agree it looks great though.

i know its not fun to work with, i am about to start some orange g10 for a scallion-just to try it.
