Can these be dated other than 1982 - 2004 .

It has the full serif one would this indicate early production ?

New kid on the block .

Thanks to all for a great knife forum !

Nice fillet knife. I think my da had one of these in the late 1960's or early 1970's, but I could be wrong. His knife is long gone. I think it was given to one of my brothers, who dropped it overboard, somewhere in the Mississippi River.

I love to hear myself talk, so I will confidently say that the box dates to the earlier part of the production window of 1982-2004, but hopefully someone will chime in who can do better than that. I use mine in the kitchen to cut cheese and hard sausage. They also made some gift sets with this knife along with an 897UH, and I believe another gift set with 3 knives in it. The 167UH has a little brother, the 168UH, which is a little shorter.

reddog, The dates you have are the range for production. The brown box is a clue Im thinking < 1990. Are there any other knives listed in the replacement policy?

The 167UH is the only knife listed.
LOSS CLAIM CERTIFICATE and $3.00 is to be mailed to;
SCHRADE CUTLERY CORP.
DEPT. L.C., ELLENVILLE, N.Y. 12428 U.S.A.
I am not sure this is the original paper work, I recently purchased this knife.

Some of the papers have a copyright date on them. Some have the web site on them. Schrade Cutlery Corp. name jives with the earlier side of production as mentioned. Later it would have been Imperial Schrade Corporation.

I guess the right side only tang stamp and full serif did not help as much as I thought it would.
The 152 sharp finger has the serif sequence full serif, non-serif and last was top only serif. Being a green horn I was assuming they all followed the same order of production, using the serif as an indicator. Should have known that would be far too simple.
Thanks to all for the help and your patience !

Yeah, the stamps of each pattern need their own research as they do not all follow the same changes. I've not done so with this or many other patterns, so at this point the best indicators of production years are the logos and slogans on the paperwork and box when present and reasonably sure they are original to the knife.
