DAYUM!!!! This is the way the HI Khuk's all used to be except they were polished better and the old style bolsters were perfect.:D

DAYUM!!!! But I'm really, really, pleased I snagged this khuk!!!!:D

DAYUM!!!! Almost old style bolster, only a slight, very slight flat on it!!!!:D

DAYUM!!!! Very little cho creep!!!!:D

DOUBLE DAYUM!!!! A Real Fat, I Repeat A REAL FAT Convexed Edge!!!!:D  And DAYUM All for only $85.00!!!!

And DAYUM a Beautiful Chainpuri handle!!!! :-) :-) :-) :-)

And DAYUM the scabbard fits perfectly but that's because a heavy, about 1/8" thick piece of leather was glued in at the top back side of the scabbard, but by yammies I didn't have to glue it in!!!! :-) :-) :-) :-)

The khuk is sharp with the exception of a burr all along one edge, means all I have to do is strop it. The Karda *IS* Sharp!!!!
(Actually I just ran a file along the edge of the khuk on both sides knocking off the burr and it is shaving sharp without stropping!!!! It is also very hard from about 1-1/2" from the cho too all around the point!!!! )

If our Foxy Folly's come in at this length and weight or even a few ounces heavier they are going to be absolutely PERFECT!!!! :-) :-) :-) :-)

Edit:
It's the 2nd one on the right in this pic where Uncle Bill/Yangdu posted it.... http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showpost.php?p=2806906&postcount=1

Okay that was the Pros. Now for the Cons...
The well executed scrolls along the Sword of Shiva have almost been ground off on one side along with the inlay.
The bolster could have been done better, BUT this doesn't detract away from the khukuri as far as I'm concerned, just shows that Sgt. Karka doesn't have the refinement the BirGhorka kami's do, OR he didn't take the time that he has on others, I know he is capable of nicer work than this. :-) :-)
The Important parts of the khukuri are Excellent and for $85.00 I got the buy of the year IMO!!!! :D

It sounds like a winner Yvsa!

I love the chainopuri style handle flare. One of my sirupatis (a "villiager" that I opruchased in Nepal) has a beautiful flare along with a downward curve at the butt of the handle. It locks into my hand better than any other Khuk I own.

Well if you really hate it that much, Yvsa, I -guess- you can send it to me;) Congrats, sounds like you landed a great one. I really love the sgt's work. The bilton i have by him is probably the most perfectly executed khuk i have.

DAYUMED STRAIGHT!!!!:D  :D ;)

It really is a nice khuk and in so many ways. I especially love that handle!
I don't know what it's going to be like when I actually chop something besides air with it but the shape allows the pronged top to just slide past my hand instead of digging in.:D
I think that's one of the big reasons I like the Chitlangi as well as I do, the handles are just so dayumed comfortable!:D  :p

Yvsa,
It is good to hear that the Sgt does such good work on the larger blades also. I love my little Bilton and have thought how much I would like to get something like that 19" that was right next to yours. I hope more by the Sgt come to us. He seems to be a maker that understands the old ways.
Great snag. Glad to hear you like it so much. :)

That 12/2 18" Sgt.Karka chiruwa WWII better be on my doorstep tonight... That one today looked mighty sweet too.

Great snag Edutsi...I was late that day! ;-)

Along the same lines, I'm hoping they send it to my address, instead. But, I'd send it back. Really.

This place does have some pretty nice folks around

( as long as the Great Whites don't smell blood in the water )!

No, No, No. You don't want Sgt. Karka stuff. You want Durbas. Yes, DURBA.

DURBA DURBA DURBA!!!!!

Ya'll heard what Yvsa said. Not nearly shiny enough to be a real HI. I'll be glad to take all these Sgt. Karka things off your hands. Put them out to pasture, choppin up fence posts on the back forty, where they can't hurt no body.

DUUUUUURRRRRRBBBBBA!

  :p

There are khukuris coming out of Sgt. Karkas shop that are not nearly as nice as the ones we get. Sgt. Karka sees to this himself. If it's not the best it goes to somebody else and not HI. This is the kind of quality control I like.
