The 17 inch 22 ounce Dui Chirra by Thamar just arrived. I only got a chance to open the box and fondle it for a few minutes. I will take pictures tonight and post them in the morning. This is my first Thamar kukri and my first Dui Chirra and I am in love with it. Thamar does some nice work, the best part is the handle.
It has a good curve to it. Its the most comfortable khuk I have ever held. It sits in the hand perfectly. The curve actually forces you hand to grip it, you can relax you hand with your arm down at your side and the khuk just sits there. It doesn't want to slide out of your hand and it feels even better when swung. It feels glues to your hand and it feels like it weights 16oz even though its 22oz. That handle style really makes the blade feel alive. Bookie just received a curve spine so I am sure he can attest to its comfort.
I only had a few minutes to experiment with it, so far it appears to be a lightening fast combat blade. Oh.. Auntie was listed this as "scary sharp" for a good reason. It is the SHARPEST khuk I own, its a sharp as razor blade. I shaved some forearm hairs to test it and they came off with the slightest bit of effort. Thank you again Auntie Yangdu for an amazing piece for my collection. Pics tomorrow!
