I have a schrade 171uh and I'm trying to figure out what year it was made. The knife is 10" overall. It's stamped schrade u.s.a. 171UH. also the words schrade super sharp in the middle of the blade. Trying to figure out the year it was made and what type of blade steel it is.

Thanks

Schrade Uncle Henry Pro Hunter - 10-1/2"; 5-5/8" blade; It was produced first from1973-1983 and reintroduced in 1990-1991

It says in the 1990 Catalog the blade is High Carbon Steel. I think it would be SCHRADE+ if yours was stainless.

This link has quite a bit of discussion on the 171UH. The earliest 171UH knives were stamped entirely different.
