172UH & Imperial Kit Carson

As far as blade shape and size very similar, also the way the handles are attached. Both seem to be desendents of the 148.Check the search feature for a lot more information.Arnold

I'm mainly wondering if the blade thickness is about the same between the Kit Carson and the 172UH. I have a couple of Kit Carson's but no 172UH to compare it to. The Imperial Kit Carson is made of relatively thin stock although that's not necessarily bad. You wouldn't want to try to break a deer pelvis with it but it is great for all purpose stuff; thin enough to fillet a fish in a pinch; thick enough for some reasonably heavy work. Probably similar in thickness to the 147's I have. No where as thick as a 165OT or a 15OT.
