I managed to snap a couple photos of this one before shipping it off. It was getting dark though.
This is a design based off of a Masamoto blade profile.
The steel is cpm-20CV (first gen M390) It has distal taper from about .100 thick midway down the blade.
There is about .005 behind the edge, very nearly a zero ground blade. The bevels are slightly "hollow" and spine and choil are comfortably rounded.
I finished the blade with a 600 grit cork belt.
The handle is some stabilized bog oak for the ferrule and some of Ben Greenberg's Cocobolo for the handle.
I am not a big fan of working cocobolo but this stuff is so nice its worth it.
I really like Bog Oak for ferrules. Its got a great texture to it.
Saya is some curly maple, Ive really become a fan of this storage method. My saya signature is becoming square Pegs in round holes...yes i am slightly crazy
