"supposedly" went to vietnam
looks like it has a story to tell, but I don't know it.
any way to tell when it was made?

George, It is a post 1972 knife for sure since the sheath is unriveted. I would guess a bit later possibly early 80's but it's difficult to be certain from just photos.
