I just got a really nice GEC Tidioute #18 Coyote here on the exchange and I really like it. I have a thing for wharncliffe blades. I am wondering what is the size progression of similar single blade knives..

It seems like it might go
#18 Coyote
Case Sway Back Gent
#92 Talon
#47 Viper

I would be interesting in seeing pictures of these ore other similar knifes together. Does not have to be GEC and Case its just those are models I know. I have a Case Mini Copperhead coming tomorrow that I think will be around the same size as the Coyote even though its a little longer closed. I love the wharncliffe blade on it. Think the Sway Back would be next to buy or maybe a Talon. I expect the Viper will be a bit larger then I like. These are just secondary carry for me. Fitting into a pants watch pocket is good for that. I normally have a Chris Reeve Small Sebenza, Inkosi, or Mnandi as primary.

Look out for a GEC 56 Hound's Tooth too, bootom knife. Smaller than a Viper bigger than a SWBJ.

Queen Cutlery has recently put out a larger single Wharncliffe , the Schatt&Morgan Executive Jack, 3.65" closed.

I have a case navy blue mini copperhead showing up in the mail tomorrow. I did not include it in the list since its not a similar style, but the wharncliffe main blade on it sure is nice. I also just ordered new red wine jigged bone Talon.

Your #89 is a cool looking knife!

Here is my Coyote with the mini copperhead the mailman just dropped off. I expect I will have the Talon show up Wednesday or Thursday.

Got my Talon in today from DLT in Red Wine Jigged Bone. I like the way it fits into my hand. It also works in the the leather slip by my old Al Mar Falcon I got back in the '80s. Its about the same size as my CRK Mnandi but thinner. I think I do want to pick up a case swayback gent to be the size between the coyote and the talon. I don't feel any need for a Viper. I don't want anything thicker or larger then the Talon. The houndstooth seems slightly smaller but thicker and heavier then the Talon. I think I will pass on that model also.

It looks like you're specializing in collecting wharncliffe blades. What attracts you to that style? Just curious.

I enjoy the shape blade shape and for 99% of what I do with a pocket knife (open mail, break down boxes, etc) the shape works well for it. Not that I don't like other shapes.

Here is the status of the collection. I like each of them for different reasons. I wish the Coyote was the same size as the Case Sway Back Gent, but I like it the way it is also. The Talon is a bit big but really nice. The only knock on the Case SBG is that it has the hardest pull of all of them. The mini copperhead is nice and I like the lack of half stop. Just wish its blade was a little wider. Really if the Coyote was just scaled up a little bigger it would be the perfect one for me.

The GEC houndstooth would probably be ideal for you. Just to add some variety, the Grand Portage is a bit bigger than the swayback but not as large as the talon.

And if you like the shape of the blade, the Broadway Jack is a great size. I don't seem to have a pic of it open for some reason.

What is the size on the Broadway Jack. I do like that blade shape. It would be nice to get a Broadway in Blue Camel.

It actually looks like the Broadway is built on the #15 frame so that would be fine with me...

Yea... I had to use google to get the page for the broadway jack out of KFS. Its 3.5" and there was a review here on BF that said it was based on the #15 pattern. I just need to keep my eyes open on them. It is a cool blade shape.
