Contemplating all my Fiddlebacks I have decided to give 4 awards with each successive one becoming more important. Without further ado here are the winners:

The bridesmaid award, or most under appreciated: The Gnome-capable of most any task for a small knife, yet not quite enough to be picked first.

The utility award, or most carried/used: Bow Legged Joe-small enough to drop in the pocket, and be non threatening. When used at work most coworkers think of it as a utility blade not a knife.

The top dog award, or my favorite: The EDK-Perfect fit to my hand. The only drawback is the blade is not long enough for some tasks.

The brick house award, or if I could only have one Fiddleback: The EDC-Capable of handling any task thrown at it. All curves with a slender waist and no flat area to cause hot spots. Everytime I use it I want to break out in song 36-24-36 she's a brick house, she's mighty, mighty ...

What awards would the rest of you give out for 2018?

It's not an '18 award, but in my book, the toboggan is the most under-rated one coming out of the forge.

Cool thread, D drewway ! I’ll play along with a few of my own from 2018.....

The Mule Award goes to the Production Kephart. It’s my go to knife when I don’t want to baton or beat up any of the others. Grippy handles, tough blade, corrosion resistance.....it’s a workhorse. And I think it’s the only knife that @Bmurray and I can agree on. :D

The ‘You So Fine, You Blow My Mind’ Award goes to this beloved Lil Lady. Was lucky to acquire this one from the previous owner earlier this year. Beautiful. I won’t call her a true safe queen, but her chances of being used are slim. Love the bolster, the stripes, the handle materials.....I could go on.

The ‘Shotgun Rider’ Award goes to my group buy Hiking Buddy. Besides having some of the prettiest DIW I’ve seen, it is versatile, comfortable, and all business. It’s always either riding along in my jeep or strapped to a backpack, just like a trusted companion.

The ‘I Can’t Live If Living Is Without You’ Award goes to my Osage Babyboot. It’s my most carried, everyday companion. The Bushboot/Babyboot models are some of my favorites because of the ergonomics, looks, and feel. Easily fits in my pocket, nestles perfectly in my palm, doesn’t scare anyone, and I was lucky enough to score a special lanyard “bead” made out of @vance’s leftover bullseye tube, so....winner!

Love it. I don't know which is better the knives or the creative awards.

C5B42CDE-21FC-4943-8B05-22AE29C48EB1.jpeg I got my first FB this year, a Bushboot in 01, on a whim because someone was selling it at a good price. At first, I didn’t like the handle. But after I finally picked it up to carve a spoon blank with recently, the handle ergos fit my hand perfectly. I totally get the design and am blown away at this knife! The Bushboot has become my “go-to fixed blade” now. I hope I can wait until Blade in Atl next year to buy my second Fiddleback.
