Here is an 18 inch, 1.5 pound Gelbu Special done by Bura and he has done a pretty decent job. Fit, finish, hardness all up to HI standards. But, the major problem is the knife suffered handle damage during shipment from Nepal. You can see this problem in the pix above. The second problem is a small fold line at the edge of the blade just ahead of the cho -- maybe 1/4 inch --this should never present a problem but the knife will go with full HI guarantee just in case.

Karda is very nicely done and fullered like big blade. Chakma is Bura quality. Both nice size.

Scabbard is well made and tooled by sarki with no name and frog is standard 100 year HI superfrog.

We will deliver this rig to your door today for $95 -- $55 savings.

You can use some epoxy to fix the handle or get a new one put on by Terry Sisco for less than $55 so you end up ahead no matter which way you go. Unless you are a stickler for beauty go with 50 cents worth of epoxy and save the rest for another khukuri.

That's a nice looking blade. The handle though looks pretty long. What are the specs on that handle Uncle? And what type of wood is that?
