Got this in today and wanted to put up a brief report on it. First, the blade is sooooooo close to being convex that it will take only a very small amount of work to get it all the way there. Man is it light, 18" and 19 oz., and I in no way mean this is a bad thing. Very fast in the hand. Very fast. I have a AK by Amtrak also and I must say that the Kobra is a bit nicer. After the two 18" AKs that I had bought (on sale & a blem) when I first pulled out the Kobra it was a bit of a suprise at how "small" it looked. Then I looked over at my Becker BK-9 and saw that it cringed away from the Kobra, just a bit but it was there. I know that the Kobra isn't a full heavy duty chopper by any means but it destroyed a couple of cardboard boxes with no effort. One inch branch, no problem. I have to admit that I used it to split a piece of firewood. Now maybe it isn't supposed to be used like that but it didn't even leave the slightest mark on the blade and it went through it like it was nothing. I will try to restrain myself a bit. Everyone talks about getting that one Khurk that speaks to them. Now I am not saying that this one sat up and sang me a song but it did whisper a bit to me, which as much as I love my two AKs they didn't quite do that. Sorry this is so long. I will try to get a better (i.e. fact) filled report and perhaps a few pics in a couple of days. Thanks Mark

I'm receiving an 18" Kobra by Bura, should be here next week. Uncle Bill tells me it's 15 oz. 18"...and 15 oz. Should be one hell of a fighter...

Wow, 18" and only 15oz. Yeah I think that you are right in saying that it will be a great fighter. I wonder what the thickness will be like on yours? I will have to get all of the measurements on mine.

I've got an 18" 18 oz Kobra by Raju and it is sweet. I can understand why Mamav collects his work.
