I tested out my new WW2 this weekend. It was the blem from 7/3 if anyone wants to see a picture. I worked on a couple of small trees in the backyard, some thick weeds that my wife has ignored in the garden, and some follow up trimming to the Palo Verde in front that I worked on with my BAS about a month ago.
In short, this is a chopping mo-fo. I didn't even feel like I was using a lot of energy with every whack. Which was a bonus since at 9:30 it was already almost 100 degrees and I didn't have much energy to waste. I did the stuff in back in no time. The Palo Verde took longer just because of the size and that I was just trimming, not taking huge hacks. Very effortless for the most part.
It's a big, stout blade. Feels good in the hand. I had no blisters or sore spots in my palms afterwards. To sum up, this is a good Khuk.
However, I will say this. It doesn't have the same magical feel that my BAS has. It seems from my reading posts for the past two months that most people like either the AK or WW2 as the best, but IMHO, nothing beats the BAS as a general purpose blade. For me, it just "fits".
Of course, I as of yet don't own an AK, so I will need to buy at least a 12" and an 18" to be fair. And I probably should get a 16.5" WW2 for comparison sake. And then I probably should get a Siru and a ............
Ah, the joys of HIKV.
