Why it certainly sounds like it, hence the reason I don't shop ebay. I would rather see and handle what I buy - and determine in person that the deal I am getting is fair. I guess its just personal preference and, I know ebay appeals to many people. For specialty or discontinued items not readily available elsewhere, ebay can offer a solution - albeit with the usual risks.
I really like the two stores in my area that handle knives so, I am lucky in that regard. However, I realize that finding knives that interest you in local stock can often be a rarity depending on where you live.

Several possibilities. First the seller may have screwed up and priced the knife incorrectly. The second is what I call "fishing for suckers". Does not look like any have bitten yet. In either of those cases, I would be tempted to bet that auction will close without a bid. Then there is always the chance, since the seller is in Canada, that they bought locally, paid full MSRP plus, and think that's what the knife is worth.
