Finally got to use the H&B Forge Large Camp Axe to make a cooking range and get some kindling for a fire. I was able to compare it to the Council Tool Hudson Bay 18” axe. This is the same one I had issues with and CT sent it back to me done up like their Velvicut axes with the head seated correctly and axe head sharpened up nicely.
They are both good for travel and portability with the extra weight going to the CT, while the lighter axe/hawk has more reach. I like them both. Here are a few shots of them doing some dirty work!

Good size pieces for fuzzing out

Some good looking axes there.

That is one area I need to get going. I have a few hawks. Big and little knives. Folders, locking and slip joints.

But I don't have any wood axes.

beautiful choppers RB! What kind of knife is that in the pix? looks like a cross between TOPS BOB and Lite Hiker

I had the large Camp Axe for a while but ended up giving it to my nephew-let him carry the weight! I got myself the medium Camp Axe and it's about exactly what I wanted.
