Finally got to use the H&B Forge Large Camp Axe to make a cooking range and get some kindling for a fire. I was able to compare it to the Council Tool Hudson Bay 18” axe. This is the same one I had issues with and CT sent it back to me done up like their Velvicut axes with the head seated correctly and axe head sharpened up nicely.
They are both good for travel and portability with the extra weight going to the CT, while the lighter axe/hawk has more reach. I like them both. Here are a few shots of them doing some dirty work!

Good size pieces for fuzzing out

With CT Boys Axe and CT Hudson Bay

I have never been a fan of this type of axe but damn it if that show Vikings isnt starting to turn me around, and this does not help. Its a nice looking axe, with a bit of a poll even!

Well... Which do you prefer?

CT Boy's Axe, but not for hiking!

Nice photos.

HB forge did a nice job with your trapper Axe... looks very rustic.

Trapper Axe, yes I can see it being called that. Fort Turner makes a similar design called the Trapper's Axe.

A friend told me it had a Viking look to it too.
