hello guys i seen this knife selling on ebay he is calling it a salesman sample but i dont think so as i had one that was identical . any opinions , comments ?

I would imagine that you could tell by looking at the tang stamp. Maybe he's referring to the early ones that predate the patent pending stamp??? Other than that how would anyone know a salesman's sample from any other?

hi mike yes its too bad its not a better picture but im sure its the same as mine was in the bloodgroove on one side says buckmaster on the other is the pat number so im pretty sure these were the last ones made so if it was indeed a salesmans sample he must have been a slow starter eh?

It is one of the later knives with the wrong sheath. That sheath was made for an M9 bayonet.

I saw that auction earlier today and I think the seller may be confused. Unless there is a story to go with the knife, it looks to be a standard issue 184 and someone got hold of an OD pouch for the front.
