1840DAM Shallot quality?

who's got experience with the Damascus Shallot? I'm wanting to get a Damascus knife, but how is the quality on this one, and do you have pics? what are the good and bad things about it? Strength, F&F, Corosion/rust resistance?
 
Its amazing! And as long as you keep the Blade Clean and oiled every now and again it will look great for years to come..No real downsides, just make sure to take care of it.

and how often would it need cleaned an oiled? I'm used to low maintenance knives
 
it will rust easy. It gets moist here in the NW so mine rusted fast... heck my S30V will rust if I dont watch it. Im going to keep a visible coat of oil on my DAM.
 
Just as long as you keep a nice coat of white mineral oil on it you'll be fine. Damascus is an exotic steel form and must be treated as such.
 
If its made with non stainless steels you will need to treat it as such. A bit of mineral oil is enough.
