Evidently the Buck 110 is indeed a copy of some previously made knife in the 1840s. Texas Ranger McCrea is seen in the recent episode of the Lonsome Dove TV series, Commanche Moon, sitting atop a cliff in the Texas badlands whittling with what appeared to be a BUCK 110. Since the Buck family didnt start making the 110 until the early 1900s, I must assume the 110 is indeed a "copy' of yet some other knife of unknown manufacturer.;);)

I saw that also, it was 1865 in that scene, but I paused and zoomed in with my DVR, and it looked more like a Schrade 6OT that a Buck 110.

It appeared to be a barehead design and have a lanyard hole and the blade had the much more pronounced clip point of a Schrade.

Either way, it sure didn't belong in 1865! :D
