I posted this thread in the Blade discussion forum with only one reply, hopefully here I can get a couple more. A friend of mine is looking for an 1890s period Bowie or Riflemens type knife for Cowboy re-enactments. 5 to 8 blade, fit and finish is not as critical as being correct for the timeframe. His price range is up to about $100.00. Any thoughts or suggestions would be most appreciated. Thanks. Richard

Is he hoping for cut or show? If he really wants authentic, a file or two and Goddard's one-brick forge is only about $50 away.
