A recent eBay auction advertised an 18OT. The tang stamp could not be seen in the photo, but the seller described it as: "SCHRADE NY USA 18OT." It was photographed in the brown wood-grain box.
When the knife arrived, the box was correct but the knife tang stamp reads SCHRADE / USA 18OT.
So my question, is this the correct tang stamp for an older box? Was there ever an 18OT with the NY USA stamp?
If the seller pulled a "switch-a-roo" with a newer knife in an old box, I'm going to send it back. If the tang stamp is correct for a knife of that age (two-piece wood grain box with white sleeve), I'll probably keep it since the price was OK.
