Kesar may not know how to make a YCS but he knows how to make a Chitlangi. 19 inches and 21 ounces of excellent khukuri. Beautiful glow in the dark saatisal handle. Good karda & chakma. Top nothch scabbard & frog by village sarki.

Can't find a better knife this size for $125 and that's what it will take to get this perfect rig delivered to your door.

Call or email.

Oh, What range of sizes does the Chitlani comes in and who originated the blade?

Uncle Bill,

I weakened. Should save my money for YCS. You have email if it has not already been taken.

Congrats, Glen!
I almost went for this one, but I'm hoping for a blem to come along.

Why did I have to get online so late today?:( I've wanted a Khukuri with those lines and missed it.:(

At least I will eat good this month. Nice grab Glen.

The Chitlangi ("from Chitlang") is named after the village from which it came. The blades original to BirGorkha (like the UBE, AK Bowie, YCS, Kumar Kobra, and, soon, the Cherokee Rose) as well as the traditionals are all described on Howard's FAQ. Take a day (or several) and read through it top to bottom. There is a huge amount there to absorb, but most of the answers are there as well. The Chilangis usually run about 18" and 21". Kesar must have thought there should be a "Mid-Size" :D

Nice grab Glenn!!:)

You've got to tell us how this one handles! Now I REALLY feel sorry for you having to wait so long--I've got "sympathy" waiting pains!:D

I'm also curious as to how much extra protection your khuks need being out in the outback sun? If any. Do you have all wood handled ones or some horn? More questions from an admitted "Australo-phile":D

Thanks Walosi
Nice grab Gleen, it's a real beauty. I was very close to buying that, but I already got two this month:D

I hadn't planned on buying a Chitlangi just yet but this one was 19 inches long and was so light and looked so good and Yves recommends this type khukuri and this was the last day of my holidays and - I weakened (damned virus). As I've told Uncle Bill in my emails, I've been on holidays for the past week and that has allowed me to get up between 2am and 3am in the mornings to make my strikes. The Cantina will be safe from purchases by me now I'm going back to work. Presently I have four khukuris in the post, a 15 inch Chiruwa AK, a 17 inch BGRS, a 18 inch BGRS (probably a present for a son), and this one. That doesn't count the 15 inch Sirupati and 18 inch World War II I already have (or rather my offspring have). The HIK virus is quiet - for a while. If Uncle Bill ever finds a smaller 16 inch YCS, put it away Bill, I'll be back (when my wife returns my credit card - probably a few months time - look out, my next holidays are in July).

I'm hopeless on computers but one of my sons is an expert. When they all arrive I'll try to get him to post pictures and I'll write up a report.

As an aside, you're not wrong about the outback sun. We've had a total failure of our cyclone season this year and am now in the grip of a major drought. If you have any spare water, send it our way:( .

Everybody's having drought problems. I saw some blurb on CNN quoting some scientist as saying the day was coming when water would cost more than oil. I'm glad I'm 68 if that comes to pass.
